The Zig Zag

The Zig Zag is the fifth movement of the “Easy Eight” movements and the fifth movement taught in the Timbrel Praise: Basic Tambourine course. Before beginning, you should first learnt how to play the Shake, Continuous Bang and Twirl in the “Steps” section.

Longhand Instructions
1.     6 Continuous Bangs from waist left to face right in a zig-zag shape: /\/\/.
2.     2/4 Shakes at upper right.
3.     2 Twirls at upper right.
4.     6 Continuous Bangs from upper left to hip right in a zig-zag shape.

Movement Notes

  • Make sure your non-playing hand follows the tambourine.
  • Remember to turn the tambourine 180 degrees when playing the Shakes and Continuous Bangs.
